Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid)
About the Company & Team
We are partnering with a globally recognised, tier-one insurance brokerage.
The Data Insights team is currently undergoing an exciting growth phase, expanding to 10+ members. You will be joining a highly collaborative environment consisting mostly of BI/Power BI Analysts and one other highly experienced Senior Data Engineer.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (8+ years experience) who can hit the ground running.
Because of the complexity and scale of the data, prior experience within the insurance sector is an absolute must.
You will take ownership of core data infrastructure, working heavily with Python, SQL, and Databricks to build out robust data warehouses and ETL pipelines. As a senior member of the team, you will also champion data governance and lineage while keeping an eye on the future - specifically, how AI is evolving and optimising the modern data engineering landscape.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
