Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Duration

3 months renewable

Schedule

  • 3 days in the office
  • 2 days working from home

This opportunity offers the chance to design and build end-to-end data solutions within a complex energy and trading environment, helping drive better decision-making through data engineering, data modelling and cloud-based platforms. The role is focused on creating strong data foundations, improving analysis capability, and supporting the delivery of scalable solutions across Azure, AWS and SAP ecosystems. This position would suit a technical professional who enjoys combining hands-on engineering, stakeholder communication and data strategy delivery.

Required Experience

  • Strong senior-level experience designing and building data foundations and end-to-end data solutions.
  • Experience working in data engineering environments that support business decision-making through scalable data platforms and analytics.
  • Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience presenting findings and technical recommendations to business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Exposure to change management, incident management and problem management processes.

Required Skills

  • Expert-level capability in AWS, Azure and SAP.
  • Expert-level experience with ELT, data modelling, and data integration and ingestion.
  • Strong data manipulation and data processing skills.
  • Working knowledge of GitHub, GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Data Factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Stream Analytics, Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift, SonarQube and PyTest.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical developers and business managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, including running a scrum team.
  • Experience working with BPC and Planning.
  • Exposure to working with external technical ecosystems.
  • Experience with MKDocs documentation.
  • Power BI, data analysis and broader data engineering project exposure would be advantageous.
