About the Role
We're supporting a major technology consulting business as they continue to expand their data engineering capability. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll take a leading role in the delivery of complex cloud-based data platforms, helping organisations unlock greater value from their data and drive data-led transformation.
This position offers the chance to work across high-profile programmes, influence technical direction and contribute to the development of modern, scalable data architectures.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and delivering scalable data platforms and engineering solutions.
- Leading the development of batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Driving best practice across data architecture, engineering standards and governance.
- Working with cloud-native technologies to develop high-performing data solutions.
- Supporting DevOps adoption, automation and CI/CD processes.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers and stakeholders across multiple projects.
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team capability development.
- Supporting technical decision-making and solution design activities.

What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience in data engineering and modern data platforms.
- Advanced programming skills in Java or Python.
- Expertise working with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink or similar distributed data frameworks.
- Experience delivering solutions within AWS or other major cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, scalability and performance optimisation.
- Experience working with containerisation, Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment approaches.
- Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or leading technical teams within complex delivery environments.
