Senior Data Engineer
Newcastle City Centre
Rate: £21 per hour CIS
Start: Monday 17th August
Duration: 4 weeks - on-going
We are pleased to be partnering with our client, a leading provider of technology solutions within the heavy industrial sector. Their expertise spans structured cabling, IP surveillance systems, cyber-security, IT managed services, and connectivity solutions. Due to project requirements, they are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with Supervisory experience to support the completion of a key installation project in Newcastle city centre site.
Role
This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideally suited to a data cabling professional with experience in containment installation and working at height. The position is aligned to an electrician's mate or structured cabling supervisor background rather than a telecommunications engineer. You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the completion of installation works, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
