Build the Data Foundations Shaping the Future of Engineering

Join Buro Happold as a Senior Data Engineer.

This person can be based in our Bath, Leeds, Manchester or London office on a hybrid working model.

At Buro Happold, we're transforming how engineering knowledge, project intelligence, and AI-driven insights are captured, connected, and scaled across a global business. As part of our Design Technology team, we're looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer to help build the data infrastructure that powers the future of engineering.

If you're passionate about turning complex data into meaningful insights and want to see your work make a tangible impact on major engineering projects, we'd love to hear from you.

About The Role

As a Data & Analytics Engineer, you'll sit at the heart of Buro Happold's digital transformation journey, designing and building the data platforms that enable smarter decision-making across our global engineering practice. Combining modern data engineering with business intelligence development, you'll create scalable data pipelines, develop powerful reporting solutions, and help establish best practices for data governance, quality, and self-service analytics.

You'll work across a diverse range of systems and stakeholders, translating data from engineering, project management, and operational platforms into trusted, actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Platform Development

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern lakehouse and medallion architecture principles.
  • Integrate and transform data from project systems, engineering tools, databases, and APIs.
  • Ensure robust data quality, governance, lineage, and documentation standards across the platform.
  • Collaborate with IT and platform teams to optimise cloud-based data infrastructure.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Own the full reporting lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data modelling through to deployment and user adoption.
  • Implement best practices around semantic models, governance, security, and workspace management.
  • Support the transition from traditional reporting towards scalable self-service analytics.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
