About the Role

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in the evolution of the Reach data lake including creating new data ingestion processes, monitoring existing processes and building out the ingestion frameworks.

The Data Lake is built using AWS services including Athena (Iceberg & Parquet), Glue, S3, Lambda and ECS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Maintain Pipelines: Design robust Python data ingestion processes from diverse sources (APIs, S3, SFTP) using AWS tools (Athena/Iceberg/Parquet, Glue, Lambda, ECS) and Redshift.
  • Infrastructure & Monitoring: Provision AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and embed clear observability mechanisms to ensure high data reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with analysts, product managers, and business teams to ensure seamless data delivery and articulate technical design decisions clearly.
  • Quality & Best Practices: Write comprehensive documentation, enforce unit testing standards, and champion a culture of data quality, inclusion, and non-discrimination.

Qualifications

  • Technical Stack: Advanced Python (Pandas, AWS Wrangler), strong SQL (DDL/DML), and deep expertise across AWS data services (Athena, Glue, S3, Lambda, ECS, Redshift).
  • Engineering Standards: Proven experience with IaC, unit testing for data workflows, and pipeline observability.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners, foster collaboration across teams, and manage multiple priorities independently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
