Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: UK (Hybrid/Remote)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum + Benefits
Our professional services customer is embarking on an exciting digital transformation. Having recently designed and built a modern data platform with an external delivery partner, they are now ready to transition to full internal ownership. As such, they seek a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to take technical ownership of this ecosystem, driving BAU, development, and future scaling.
The Role
As Senior Data Engineer, you will bridge the gap between external implementation consultancy and our internal business users. Initially, you will work closely with external partners to manage a seamless knowledge transfer. Post-transition, you will assume full responsibility for operating, supporting, and evolving the data platform.
This is a highly collaborative, technical role where you will manage everything from data ingestion and pipeline orchestration to back-end database development and dimensional modelling.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
