Are you an experienced Data Engineer looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in healthcare?

At University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a talented and innovative Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining the Trust's data infrastructure, supporting the delivery of high-quality information and reporting solutions that underpin patient care, operational performance, and strategic decision-making.

Working closely with the Data Engineering Manager and Heads of Service, you will:

  • Design, develop, test and maintain data warehouse and reporting solutions.
  • Build and support complex data integrations, interfaces and information flows.
  • Develop solutions using Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and related development tools.
  • Support strategic digital transformation projects across the Trust.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, performance, security and resilience across critical systems.
  • Lead on problem-solving, root-cause analysis and service improvements.
  • Supervise and support junior members of the Data Engineering team.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, operational and corporate teams to deliver innovative information solutions.
