Data Engineer - Snowflake, dbt & Matillion | Up to £70,000 | Hybrid, Milton Keynes
We're recruiting on behalf of one of the world's leading sustainable automotive manufacturers - a company with over 50,000 employees globally, and a name most people in the industry will immediately recognise.
This is a great opportunity for a data engineer who wants to grow into a senior role, working within a collaborative Data, Automation & AI team on modern cloud data warehouse and visualisation solutions.
The Role
You'll help build and maintain data pipelines and analytical data assets using Snowflake, Matillion, dbt and related cloud data technologies, supporting analytics, automation and AI use cases across the organisation. You'll work alongside data specialists, privacy officers, business stakeholders and reporting teams to establish well-structured data warehouse layers, reusable transformation models, and visualisation-ready datasets for tools such as Power BI, Tableau and ThoughtSpot.
Day-to-day you'll be:
- Developing and optimising Snowflake data warehouse solutions
- Building, orchestrating and monitoring Matillion ELT pipelines
- Writing dbt transformation models, tests and documentation
- Working across staging, curated and mart-layer data architecture
- Writing advanced SQL and contributing to dimensional data modelling
- Integrating data from APIs, enterprise platforms and cloud storage into Snowflake-based data products
- Supporting data governance, quality, lineage and audit routines
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business and reporting requirements into scalable solutions
- Working across multiple initiatives in a matrix organisation, using agile tools and practices

What They're Looking For
- 3-5+ years' experience in data engineering, data warehousing or analytics
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Matillion, dbt or similar cloud data platform tools
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills
- No HR background required - just an openness to learning the domain
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to turn business needs into technical solutions
- A self-starter who's energetic, curious and keen to keep learning new tools and technologies
- Comfortable working across cross-functional and matrix teams
- Fluent English
