The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-impact data transformation programme with a specialist consultancy delivering work for a fast-growing organisation in the financial services space. You'll play a key role in building and enhancing a modern Databricks platform, working closely with experienced data professionals on a hands-on engineering project.
The Company
They are a specialist consultancy with deep expertise in cloud data platforms and modern data engineering. Working closely with their end client, they deliver scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions that support critical business operations. The project team is collaborative, highly technical, and focused on best practice across data engineering, governance, and platform optimisation.
The Role and Deliverables
- Build reusable data ingestion pipelines within an AWS Databricks environment.
- Develop and maintain Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers using Medallion Architecture principles.
- Implement and manage metadata configuration, data governance, and data classification standards.
- Work with Unity Catalog to support secure, well-governed data access and management.
- Partner with data architecture teams to ensure alignment with the wider platform strategy.
- Drive improvements in data quality, platform efficiency, and cloud cost optimisation.

Your Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Databricks in a recent commercial environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Databricks architecture, tooling, and best practices.
- Strong experience with Unity Catalog and data governance frameworks.
- Proven capability in building scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines.
- Experience working with Medallion Architecture and managing Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
- Strong understanding of metadata management, data classification, and data quality processes.
- Comfortable with data modelling within Databricks environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders, including data architecture teams.
- Experience monitoring and optimising cloud platform costs.
- Financial services or fintech experience is beneficial but not essential.
