Senior Data Engineer | 6 Month Contract

📍 London | Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite
💷 £450 per day
🏢 Insurance | AWS and Databricks data platform
📅 6 months, strong scope for extension

A major insurance business is scaling up its data platform and needs an experienced data engineer who can build across AWS and Databricks, work comfortably with Informatica, and design data models that hold up as the estate grows. Plenty of build work, a broad stack, and a business area that actually uses what you deliver.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain end to end data solutions across AWS, Databricks, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Develop ETL and ELT pipelines in Informatica and cloud native services
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support insurance business functions
  • Work across data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse layers feeding reporting, analytics, AI/ML, and regulatory outputs
  • Design JSON and XSD schemas and integrate via APIs, Kafka, and MQ
  • Apply enterprise data standards and canonical models so what you build stays consistent and reusable
  • Work directly with business stakeholders and architects to turn requirements into working data solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
