The Vacancy
RSK Group are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our expanding Data & Analytics team.
This is a full time, hybrid role (minimum 3 days per week in the office) based at our office in London - Chancery Exchange.
The role will play a pivotal part in shaping and scaling our enterprise data platform, building robust data integration solutions and establishing the frameworks that will support the next phase of our growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to take technical ownership of a modern data stack and influence the way data is engineered, governed and used across a rapidly evolving organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take technical ownership of the ingestion and platform layer - designing, building and running the pipelines that bring data from a wide and varied estate of source systems into our Snowflake warehouse using Fivetran and Azure Data Factory.
- Lead the shift from manual, file-based feeds to direct, automated, granular connections to source systems, and standardise the feeds that cannot be replaced.
- Design a repeatable onboarding pattern so that connecting a newly acquired business is a known, time-bound piece of work rather than a bespoke project each time.
- Own reliability, performance and cost of the platform - orchestration, monitoring, alerting and incident response - and remove the recurring manual intervention that quietly consumes team capacity.
- Write advanced SQL and Python, favouring reusable frameworks and well-tested patterns over one-off scripts.
- Set and enforce engineering standards across the team: version control, CI, automated testing, code review and documentation.
- Work hand in hand with analytics engineers so that data lands in a shape the DBT transformation layer can depend on, and with analysts and business stakeholders so that solutions fit the actual need.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
