As we continue our ambitious growth journey, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help evolve and optimise our data platform, building scalable, reliable solutions that enable better use of data across our business.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Data, you’ll play a key role in the evolution of our data platform, designing and building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using modern cloud technologies.
A major focus will be developing ELT/ETL pipelines within Microsoft Fabric, while helping modernise legacy and spreadsheet-driven processes into automated, governed and repeatable data workflows.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders and teams across the business to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions, while ensuring data quality, governance, security and performance remain at the heart of everything we build.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll also provide technical leadership and mentorship to other Data Engineers and help establish engineering best practice across our data environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines in Microsoft Fabric.
- Help evolve and optimise our data warehouse architecture to support scalability and performance.
- Re-engineer legacy, manual and spreadsheet-driven data processes into automated and governed workflows.
- Design and optimise robust data models aligned to analytics and BI requirements.
- Implement and maintain strong data governance, including data quality, validation, lineage, access controls and security.
- Embed data reliability practices including automated testing, monitoring and observability.
- Establish and promote engineering best practice across CI/CD, version control, DevOps and environment management.
- Monitor and optimise platform performance, query efficiency and cloud costs.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers.
- Maintain clear technical documentation across data architectures, pipelines, transformations and lineage.
- Keep up to date with emerging data technologies and identify opportunities to continuously improve our platform.

What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on data engineering experience, including building and maintaining production data pipelines.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern ELT/ETL approaches.
- Strong Python and SQL skills for data manipulation, analysis and pipeline development.
- Experience designing and implementing data models and data architectures.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- A good understanding of data governance, quality, security, compliance and privacy.
- Experience with CI/CD, version control and DevOps approaches within a data environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex data challenges.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, consistency and integrity.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- The ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to others.
- A proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies and methodologies.
