Senior Azure Data Engineer – Azure, Data Factory, Python, PySpark, DevOps/Data Ops, Agile, Team Lead, Mentoring – Financial Services – Permanent, up to £90,000 Base + Bonus
Overview
My Client, a Leading Private Bank, are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team on a permanent basis. This role will be located in London and will be x4 days/week in office.
Responsibilities
- Support the building and evolving of the data capabilities that supports the business.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and publishing pipelines.
- Help ensure the platform is secure, scalable, reliable, and built to strong engineering standards.
- Provide day-to-day support across the live data platform, resolving incidents and fulfilling business requests.
- Champion Data Engineering, Data Ops, and DevOps best practices.
- Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, automation, and continuous delivery.

Key Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse.
- Excellent Python and substantial PySpark experience.
- Experience building and testing robust data pipelines.
- Strong DevOps/DataOps knowledge and automated testing experience.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers.
- Good understanding of data security, GDPR, privacy, and information security.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams as well as manage stakeholders.
- Microsoft Fabric experience is a plus.
