Senior Data Engineer | £55,000-£60,000 | Remote
As the Senior Data Engineer, you will help lead how the data platform is built and run. You will own the pipelines, integrations and warehouse that feed a live data warehouse and business-critical Power Apps, and you will set the standard for the engineers around you.
The role
- Lead the design and improvement of data pipelines in Azure Data Factory, and build integration workflows with Logic Apps and Power Automate.
- You will look after the data warehouse and database estate, and drive how the business adopts Microsoft Fabric for processing and analytics.
The work is hands-on and responsible. You will take complex technical projects from first design to delivery, keep performance, quality and security in good shape, and write down the decisions that matter. You will work with business and technical stakeholders so the platform matches how the organisation actually operates, and you will mentor junior engineers as part of the job, not as an extra.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What’s in it for you
- You will lead a modern Azure and Fabric stack, not maintain a side pipeline.
- The platform already supports a warehouse and live Power Apps, so the work is visible, and the decisions stick.
- You will shape standards for quality, scale and security, and grow junior engineers rather than only deliver tickets.
- If you want ownership of the estate, a mentoring brief, and room to bring Fabric and automation further, this is that role.
