Senior Data Engineer (Contract)
Outside IR35 | £525-550/day | London (Hybrid) | Initial 3 Months
We're working with a client who is looking to bring in an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support the evolution of their cloud data platform.
You'll be joining a growing data function focused on improving engineering standards, modernising data infrastructure, and delivering scalable data solutions across the business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building robust data platforms, implementing best practices, and driving technical improvements within a cloud environment.
This is an initial 3-month contract with an immediate start and strong potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise data pipelines using modern Data Engineering best practices.
- Develop scalable, reusable, and well-documented data solutions.
- Support the evolution of cloud-based data infrastructure and tooling.
- Implement engineering standards across data platforms, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
- Contribute to platform improvements, performance optimisation, and overall data platform maturity.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience working as a Senior Data Engineer within cloud-first environments.
- Strong background delivering platform improvements, migrations, or modernisation projects.
- Experience designing robust, scalable, and maintainable data pipelines.
- Comfortable influencing engineering best practice and mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
