Senior Data Engineer

Up to £100,000 + Bonus & Benefits

London, Hybrid

I’m working with an established Insurance Broker that is continuing to invest heavily in its Data & Technology capability and is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in the modernisation of its data platform.

The business currently operates across Azure and Synapse, with plans to evolve towards Microsoft Fabric, making this a great opportunity to join during a significant period of transformation and have genuine input into the future engineering environment.

Key Areas

  • Building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines
  • Developing ETL / ELT processes and data integrations
  • Supporting the evolution from Synapse towards Microsoft Fabric
  • Improving data quality, reliability and platform performance
  • Establishing strong engineering standards and CI/CD practices
  • Contributing to platform design and technical decisions
  • Working collaboratively across Data, Technology and Software Engineering

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working Model

The role will operate on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of being in London 2 to 3 days per week. There will also be travel to the business’s regional offices, typically:

  • Essex, once per month
  • Taunton, once per month
  • Southampton, once per month

The model is flexible around regional travel. During a week where you are visiting one of the regional offices, you would not also be expected to commute into London, with the regional visit forming part of your office based working for that week.

All business travel outside of the normal London commute will be fully expensed.
