Lead Databricks Engineer

Lead end-to-end data and ML platforms, mentor technical teams, and work closely with clients to deliver meaningful business outcomes in a collaborative and technically ambitious environment.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Manager / Lead Databricks Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of complex, enterprise-level data and ML platforms. This is an opportunity to work closely with leading technology partner teams, provide technical leadership across complex delivery programmes, mentor engineers and continue developing your expertise within a fast-growing, collaborative and technically ambitious environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of Databricks-based data and ML platforms.
  • Work closely with clients, internal stakeholders and technology partner teams.
  • Provide technical leadership across delivery squads, helping set the standard for engineering excellence.
  • Translate business challenges into robust, scalable technical solutions.
  • Mentor, line-manage and develop engineers across the wider technical capability.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, capability development and technical best practice.
  • Support the continued growth and development of the organisation’s Databricks capability across clients and industries.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience delivering solutions on Databricks.
  • Cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills.
  • Experience leading technical delivery teams within enterprise environments.
  • The ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practice.
  • A mindset focused on quality, impact and continuous improvement.

Working arrangement

This is a hybrid role, with employees typically spending 2–3 days per week in the office alongside client meetings and remote working.
