Senior Data Engineer
Remote (UK)
Up to £110,000 + Benefits
Looking to work on high-volume, real-time data challenges in one of the most data-rich industries in the market? This is an opportunity to join a growing gambling and gaming business where data powers everything from customer experience and product development to risk management and commercial decision-making.
You'll play a key role in developing a modern cloud-based data platform, helping the business unlock value from large-scale datasets while influencing technical direction across the wider engineering function.

The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will help build and evolve the company's cloud-based data platform, ensuring data is reliable, accessible, and scalable across the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing scalable data pipelines and data products
- Building robust ELT processes to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives
- Working with large-scale customer, transactional, and operational datasets within a gambling and gaming environment
- Developing solutions using Python, SQL, dbt, and modern data engineering tooling
- Supporting the architecture and optimisation of cloud-native data platforms
- Partnering with Data Scientists, Analysts, Product teams, and Software Engineers to deliver business-critical solutions
- Implementing monitoring, testing, and observability across data systems
- Driving best practices around data quality, governance, automation, and engineering standards
- Mentoring engineers and contributing to a high-performing data culture

- Strong commercial experience in Data Engineering
- Advanced Python and SQL skills
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines
- Strong understanding of modern data warehousing and data modelling concepts
- Experience with dbt and modern ELT frameworks
- Experience working within AWS cloud environments
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or similar technologies
- Experience with CI/CD and software engineering best practices
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience in gambling, gaming, betting, fintech, e-commerce, or other high-volume digital environments would be advantageous
