Role description

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimise enterprise-scale data solutions that support major projects, programmes, and business functions. As a technical specialist within multidisciplinary teams, you will lead the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure data platforms, pipelines, and products that enable reporting, analytics, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making. Working with technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, SQL, and Power BI, you will ensure data is managed effectively throughout its lifecycle, and contribute to effective Information Management across all teams and business functions. The role combines strong technical expertise with stakeholder engagement, requiring the ability to translate business requirements into sustainable data solutions while promoting best practice in data engineering, governance, information management, automation, and cyber security.

Role accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrations, and transformation processes across multiple data sources.
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of Microsoft Fabric and associated cloud-based data engineering solutions.
  • Build and maintain enterprise data products, data models, and structured datasets that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.
  • Establish and apply data quality, validation, and assurance frameworks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data assets.
  • Collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, analysts, and digital specialists to define and deliver data requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimisation, and adoption of industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis standards relating to information management, data governance, cyber security, and data privacy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues, providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Support the development of junior team members through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of organisational data engineering standards, frameworks, and reusable solutions.
  • Support solution architecture, platform design, and strategic data initiatives across programmes and business functions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
