I’m working with a major UK charity that has recently implemented Snowflake and is now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape what comes next.
This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit a perfectly polished data platform and spend your life making minor improvements to it.
There’s plenty to build.
You’ll take ownership of the Snowflake roadmap, migrate legacy data, integrate new sources and help establish Snowflake as the organisation’s central source of truth.
The role will be around 70–80% hands-on, but they also need someone capable of thinking strategically, improving engineering practices and challenging the business when data requirements aren’t clear or sensible.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building and improving data pipelines
- Developing SQL-based data models
- Integrating Salesforce and other data sources into Snowflake
- Helping develop a Medallion-style data architecture
- Establishing data quality and governance practices
- Improving engineering processes and ways of working
- Managing the performance and cost of the data platform
- Working with senior stakeholders across the organisation

You’ll need:
- Excellent SQL skills
- Strong experience building data pipelines
- Experience integrating multiple sources into a data warehouse
- A good understanding of data modelling, quality and governance
- The confidence to take ownership and push back when needed
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
Snowflake experience would be highly desirable, but it isn’t essential if you’ve worked extensively with another modern cloud data platform.

Experience with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud or Data Cloud/Data 360 would also be useful, while previous charity or fundraising experience is a bonus rather than a requirement.
This could be a particularly good opportunity for an ambitious Data Engineer ready to step into their first role with genuine ownership of a platform, roadmap and governance strategy.
You’ll be joining at the beginning of a significant data transformation, with plenty of new engineering work and the opportunity to influence how the organisation uses data moving forward.
£62,000 | London hybrid – 2 days per week
