Senior Data Engineer

London – hybrid

Up to £85,000 DOE + Holiday + Pension

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer looking to join a growing technology function at an important stage of its data transformation journey.

The business is building a new group-wide data platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure, with Power BI as the primary analytics and reporting layer. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have genuine scope to influence how the data platform continues to evolve and mature.

You will be building, maintaining and extending data ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines across a modern Microsoft Fabric platform as well as helping to establish engineering standards, reusable patterns and best practices across the data environment.

The Role:

  • Build, maintain and extend data ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines across a modern Microsoft Fabric platform.
  • Develop logical data models, curated datasets and semantic models to support reporting, analytics and data science.
  • Help establish engineering standards, reusable patterns and best practices across the data environment.
  • Work across a broad range of source systems and data domains, ensuring data is reliable, secure, well-governed and accessible.
  • Support platform performance, monitoring, data quality, security and cost optimisation.

The Person:

  • Strong commercial experience working as a Data Engineer, ideally within a complex or multi-site organisation working with Python and SQL.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure and modern data engineering technologies.
  • Experience building data pipelines, data models and analytics-ready datasets.
  • Good understanding of data architecture, data quality, governance and security.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with architects, analysts, data scientists and wider technology teams.
