Senior Data Engineer (Medical Imaging & AI)

London | 12 Month Contract

This is an opportunity to join a cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning programme focused on transforming healthcare and accelerating the development of innovative therapies. You'll play a key role in building scalable data infrastructure that enables scientists and ML teams to work with large-scale medical imaging datasets.

The Company

They are a technology-driven organisation using advanced AI and Machine Learning to solve complex challenges in healthcare and life sciences. Their teams bring together data, engineering, and scientific expertise to develop innovative solutions that support research and drug development. As they continue to scale their AI capabilities, they are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support a critical imaging data initiative.

The Role and Deliverables

  • Build, operate, and automate data pipelines for large-scale medical imaging datasets, including DICOM and associated tabular data.
  • Design and develop cloud-based data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions on GCP.
  • Create automated processes for imaging data onboarding, validation, harmonisation, quality control, and de-identification.
  • Manage imaging-derived artefacts, linking annotations and segmentations to source imaging data and delivering analysis-ready datasets.
  • Develop production-quality Python code with strong testing, monitoring, and documentation practices.
  • Collaborate with ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and scientific stakeholders to optimise datasets and apply AI-driven approaches to data ingestion and quality assurance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
