About The Role
Unity Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a critical data platform that supports core business operations. This role offers a high degree of autonomy and requires a proactive individual capable of translating complex requirements into resilient, scalable software solutions. The successful candidate will work within a team of experienced software and data engineers, collaborating closely to address data platform challenges and develop innovative solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across Unity's product ecosystem. The role involves partnering with various stakeholders to understand business needs, define problem spaces, and own the development lifecycle from conception through to deployment and maintenance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in software development, particularly in building and maintaining large-scale data platforms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and database technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Familiarity with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a resilient, scalable data platform that supports Unity’s business-critical operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement data pipelines, storage solutions, and data processing workflows that ensure data integrity and availability.
- Optimize data platform performance and scalability in response to evolving business needs.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify data needs and develop strategies for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Own the end-to-end development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
