What we’re looking for 🌱
We firmly believe that data is core to our mission to build the place where small businesses can get the funding they need to win. It is our key asset and is fundamental to the growth of our company. As such, we’re looking to strengthen our Data Product team to help us continue to build a world class data ecosystem, working on cutting edge data concepts and technologies.
This role will work closely with a team of data engineers & analytics engineers to build data products, supporting key stakeholders across the business - including risk, data scientists, commercial …and more!
What you'll be doing
- Be a senior member of the data product team, reporting into the Lead Data Product manager, responsible for enabling Funding Circle to be data driven and to help grow our data maturity.
- Support and coach junior colleagues in data product management.
- Support Senior Data leaders with strategic development of Data Products at Funding Circle.
- Be a data champion, enabling the transformation of the way data is thought of and implemented at Funding Circle.
- Build a strong network of stakeholders within the business, understanding their objectives, translating them into a prioritised roadmap of work.
- Become an SME and take ownership of the OKRs and planning cycles of your domain.
- Work with engineers to help shape solutions that deliver value to our stakeholders - from making new data available to creating useful, structured datasets for analytics.
- Act as a translator between product engineering teams producing data and reporting and analytics teams using data to align roadmaps and requirements.
- Work with the wider teams to maximise the value realised from our data using cutting edge data technologies.

Skills we’d love to see:
- Proven experience of understanding stakeholder goals and turning them into successful products.
- Experience managing a wide group of stakeholders across all parts of the business, joining the dots to create solutions that work for everyone and prioritise work within the engineering team.
- Experience of working with data platforms (data warehouse / data lake) and understanding the core elements that make up these platforms.
- Experience of working with Data Scientists, Analysts and / or BI teams
- Proficiency in SQL for data exploration and analysis.
- Be the voice of the product, translating technical delivery into business outcomes and communicate this out effectively.
- You like to get into the details and solving problems but can also step back and communicate the bigger picture.
- You build collaborative and constructive relationships.
- Understand what's possible with data and the impact it has on an organisation.
