Position Type: Permanent

Help us create a better future, quicker

As Senior Data Science Manager within the Global Energy Management (GEM) Centre of Excellence, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of data solutions that support ScottishPower's energy management business. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of innovative data platforms that enable business-critical decision making, support machine learning capabilities, and help drive our journey towards Net Zero.

Working at the intersection of data science, architecture, and business strategy, you'll influence the future direction of GEM's data landscape while leading complex programmes and external delivery teams in a dynamic and evolving environment.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the GEM Centre of Excellence Manager, you'll lead the architecture, design, delivery, testing, and ongoing development of data solutions across the energy management function. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate business challenges into scalable data solutions, and ensure data is provided in an efficient, secure, and sustainable way.

You'll assess the current data landscape and develop a strategic migration roadmap that simplifies and modernises existing platforms. You'll act as product owner for data architecture and solutions within GEM, oversee delivery through external development and support partners, manage a portfolio of projects, and represent GEM's data strategy at senior leadership and enterprise-wide forums. Machine learning and data visualisation capabilities form an important part of the technology landscape you'll shape and evolve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
