Senior Data Scientist

Location: United Kingdom

About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in shaping business strategy through advanced analytics, experimentation, and data-driven insights. You will investigate the factors influencing customer acquisition, conversion, monetization, and retention, helping teams make smarter decisions and accelerate sustainable growth. Working at the intersection of Data Science, Product, and Growth, you will turn complex business questions into actionable recommendations with measurable impact. You will own analytical projects end to end, from working with raw data and building reliable data models to applying statistical methods and communicating findings. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, you will challenge assumptions, uncover new opportunities, and influence strategic priorities. This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise, commercial thinking, and analytical ownership within a collaborative, international, and innovation-driven environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead business-critical investigations across the customer journey, from acquisition and activation to conversion, monetization, and retention, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze marketing channel performance, attribution, and incrementality across SEO, paid search, CRM, and emerging channels to evaluate investment effectiveness and identify growth opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate A/B tests in collaboration with Product and Growth teams, applying statistical analysis, causal inference, and quasi-experimental methods where traditional experimentation is not feasible.
  • Build, test, document, and maintain reliable, production-ready data models using SQL, Python, and data transformation tools, ensuring the quality and integrity of analytical foundations.
  • Go beyond descriptive reporting to explain business performance, identify underlying drivers, challenge assumptions, and recommend concrete actions that improve business outcomes.
  • Investigate unexpected changes in traffic, conversion rates, and customer behavior, developing analytical frameworks, predictive models, and data products that help teams identify and act on opportunities faster.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Growth specialists, engineers, and senior leadership to translate ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical approaches and measurable results.
  • Take ownership of analytical projects from initial problem definition and data preparation through modeling, interpretation, stakeholder communication, and implementation of recommendations.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in applied Data Science or advanced analytics, ideally within a SaaS, digital product, product-led growth, or marketing-driven business, with a proven ability to influence business decisions.
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills, including experience designing, building, testing, documenting, and maintaining reliable data models. Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation tools is highly valued.
  • Strong Python programming skills, with the ability to conduct statistical analyses, develop predictive models, and build practical data products.
  • Solid knowledge of statistics, experimentation, and causal inference, including experience designing and evaluating A/B tests and selecting appropriate methods for complex analytical questions.
  • Experience in Growth or Marketing Analytics, with a strong understanding of acquisition channels, conversion funnels, attribution, incrementality, and customer behavior. Experience analyzing SEO or paid search performance is a plus.
  • Strong product and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect metrics to business outcomes, prioritize high-value questions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • An end-to-end ownership mindset, with the ability to manage the full analytical lifecycle, from raw data and modeling to interpretation, communication, and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, enabling you to explain complex analytical findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A curious, proactive, and independent approach, with a willingness to challenge assumptions, explore unfamiliar problems, and go beyond the initial request.
  • Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international working environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
