About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join Kainos’s dynamic AI and Data Practice. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building advanced AI solutions utilizing the latest machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI technologies. Your expertise will drive the adoption of modern AI frameworks, AIOps best practices, and scalable cloud-native architectures to deliver innovative solutions for our clients. You will work closely with customers to understand their business challenges and translate them into trustworthy, responsible AI solutions, ensuring ethical considerations are integrated throughout the development process. As a technical leader, you will mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. This role offers a fast-paced environment where sound decision-making, learning about emerging technologies, and collaboration with talented colleagues are key to success.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 2.1 degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Deep understanding and experience in developing AI/ML models, including time series analysis, supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience with cutting-edge AI engineering approaches such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with a solid grounding in software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, testing, and code reviews.
  • Expertise in data engineering for AI, particularly in handling large-scale, unstructured, and multimodal datasets.
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, model interpretability, and ethical AI deployment considerations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions leveraging state-of-the-art machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI technologies.
  • Drive the adoption of modern AI frameworks, best practices in AIOps, and scalable cloud-native architectures to ensure robust and efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate these into trustworthy AI models and applications.
  • Ensure responsible AI practices are embedded throughout the project lifecycle, including model interpretability and ethical considerations.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and industry trends, applying innovative approaches to client projects.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, research initiatives, and external industry events or publications.
