About the Role

We're recruiting on behalf of a high-growth, venture-backed tech business operating in the logistics space. They're not your typical logistics company; they've built their entire operation around data, and it shows in how they've scaled. Profitable and scaling rapidly, with ambitious plans for growth throughout this year and beyond.

Their data team punches well above its weight relative to the size of the business, and the work their scientists do has a direct, daily impact on how the operation runs. This isn't a team building dashboards; models go into production and drive real decisions.

What the Role Involves

We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to take ownership across one of two interconnected areas: forecasting and pricing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

On the forecasting side, you'll build and maintain models that predict how demand moves through the network, informing decisions on capacity, planning and operational resourcing. On the pricing side, you'll develop the intelligence that drives how the business prices its services dynamically, experimenting and iterating based on what plays out in live operations.

It's a senior IC role with genuine autonomy. You'll own problems from first principles through to production, and have meaningful input into how the team approaches modelling as it grows.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in data science with a track record of models that drove real decisions
  • Strong Python and SQL, comfortable across the full modelling lifecycle
  • Experience with time-series forecasting methods, and/or modelling marketplace or pricing dynamics
  • Production-minded; you've taken models beyond the notebook
  • Clear communicator with non-technical stakeholders
  • A systems thinker who cares about downstream impact, not just model performance

Domain experience in logistics isn't needed; curiosity and the ability to get up to speed fast is what counts.
