Senior Data Scientist
Manchester or Haywards Heath (1 day per month) | Up to £52,000 + Bonus

The Role
As a Senior Data Scientist in the Pricing team, you will:

- Lead Data Science projects that support pricing strategy and commercial decision-making.
- Build and enhance machine learning and statistical models using complex datasets.
- Work on a mix of strategic initiatives and ad hoc analytical challenges.
- Tackle ambiguous data problems and identify practical, evidence-based solutions.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and communicate insights.
- Mentor and support junior Data Scientists within the team.
- Collaborate with MLOps teams to ensure solutions are successfully productionised.
- Contribute to research and experimentation that drives innovation within the pricing function.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial Data Science experience within insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated environment.
- Advanced Python skills for modelling and analytical development.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques, including XGBoost and statistical modelling.
- A track record of independently delivering Data Science projects from problem definition through to implementation.
- Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with stakeholders and translating business challenges into analytical solutions.
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting less experienced team members.
- Exposure to Databricks and PySpark would be beneficial.
