Senior Data Scientist – AI, Risk & Assurance

Global FTSE PLC
To £130,000 + car allowance + 40% bonus

Astrum Search is delighted to be supporting a leading global organisation in the appointment of a Senior Data Scientist – AI, Risk & Assurance.

This is a unique opportunity sitting at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, risk, and assurance. Rather than joining an established data science function, you will have the opportunity to help build a new capability from the ground up, using machine learning, advanced analytics, and AI to transform how a global organisation identifies risk, detects fraud and error, and delivers continuous assurance.

Working within a Group Risk and Internal Audit function, you will have significant autonomy to shape the use of data and AI across the audit lifecycle, while working closely with senior stakeholders and teams across a complex, international business.

Responsibilities:

  • Help shape and deliver the Internal Audit function’s AI, data science, and analytics strategy
  • Develop and deploy machine learning, statistical, and AI models to identify emerging risks, anomalies, fraud, error, and control weaknesses
  • Analyse full data populations to provide deeper and more forward-looking insight than traditional sample-based approaches
  • Build data pipelines, analytical tools, dashboards, and models that support continuous auditing and risk monitoring
  • Work with audit and risk teams to identify opportunities where data and AI can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of assurance activities
  • Help develop the organisation’s approach to AI assurance, including model risk, transparency, fairness, governance, and responsible AI

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
