About the Intelligence platform
DCD Intelligence is building the industry's most trusted source of data, forecasts and market intelligence for the global data center sector. Our platform combines proprietary research, exclusive industry relationships and advanced data analytics to deliver high-quality market intelligence for data center investors, operators, suppliers and advisors.
Our forecasts are underpinned by a rich base of proprietary data, both quantitative and qualitative, built from DCD's long-standing relationships across the industry. We also have direct access to industry experts, through our own research team and DCD's global community of operators, investors and suppliers.
We are now building a comprehensive forecasting system to turn that data and expertise into rigorous, transparent and reproducible forecasts.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our forecasting team and help us develop the next generation of forecasting and analytical capabilities.
Our team produces forecasts for the data center market, combining proprietary datasets, deep industry knowledge, and expert judgement to understand how the market is evolving and what it may look like in the future. We work across data, statistics, modelling, and market analysis, and are looking for someone who enjoys applying analytical and data science skills to real-world questions.
A key part of the role will be to create statistically robust and automated forecasting processes. You will have the opportunity to design and develop robust, scalable Python-based tools that make our forecasts more efficient, reproducible, and easier to enhance.
This is a broad role that could suit someone coming from a data science, forecasting, statistics, economics, analytics, or quantitative background. We're particularly interested in people who are curious, analytical, pragmatic, and keen to learn.
You will work closely with the Head of Forecasting & Data Modelling, our research team of industry experts, and the data engineering team. What you build will sit at the heart of a commercial product used by operators, investors and equipment manufacturers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a comprehensive, modular and version-controlled forecasting system in Python, from data inputs through assumptions to published forecasts
- Develop S-curve and other growth models, with parameter uncertainty.
- Develop data science, ML, and AI based predictive models to generate forecasting inputs from raw data, and statistically robust probabilistic scenarios, forecast ranges and risk analysis
- Build probabilistic forecasts and Monte Carlo simulations to quantify uncertainty and test the sensitivity of results to key assumptions
- Automate top-down and bottom-up reconciliation, so country, regional and global forecasts are coherent, and related forecasts are consistent with each other
- Integrate proprietary quantitative and qualitative data, and expert input, to calibrate and validate the models
- Build automated tests that catch errors, implausible values and internal contradictions in data, assumptions and outputs
- Establish backtesting, forecast versioning and accuracy tracking, so every published forecast can be reproduced and evaluated
- Explore AI-assisted research, such as automated monitoring and extraction of data center project news from press and industry sources
- Work with our data and data engineering teams on data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery)
- Document methods clearly and help the research and commercial teams explain the forecasts to clients

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
