Senior Data Scientist – Generative AI

Up to £80,000
Hybrid (3 days per week in London, Woking or Gloucestershire)

I'm partnering with a global technology organisation to hire a Senior Data Scientist into a growing AI & Data team. This is an opportunity to join a business investing heavily in AI, where you'll play a key role in designing and deploying Generative AI and machine learning solutions that deliver measurable commercial value.

Working alongside an experienced team of AI specialists, you'll have the opportunity to shape technical direction, influence AI strategy and build production-ready solutions using the latest AI technologies.

The role

  • Design, build and deploy production-ready Generative AI and machine learning solutions
  • Develop LLM applications, RAG pipelines, semantic search and intelligent automation capabilities
  • Work across the full AI lifecycle, from experimentation through to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Apply both classical machine learning and modern GenAI techniques to solve complex business problems
  • Collaborate with data engineers, product teams and senior stakeholders to deliver high-impact AI initiatives
  • Mentor other data scientists and help define best practices across AI engineering and MLOps

  • Strong Python and SQL skills with commercial experience delivering machine learning solutions
  • Hands-on experience building LLM applications and Generative AI solutions, including RAG, vector databases and prompt engineering
  • Experience deploying AI models into production using modern MLOps practices
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern AI tooling such as Databricks, Azure AI or Microsoft Fabric
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
