Senior Data Scientist
Salary: Up to £85k + equity
Location: UK (Remote)
We are working with a high-growth, global fintech that is transforming how risk is managed across the payments industry.
This is an opportunity for a technically strong Data Scientist who enjoys working with challenging datasets, building things from scratch and seeing their work directly influence commercial outcomes.
You will use advanced analytics and machine learning to understand merchant risk, identify emerging trends and develop predictive approaches that help payments and insurance partners make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and assess merchant portfolios to identify existing and emerging sources of risk
- Conduct advanced analysis and, where required, account-level investigations to develop a deep understanding of merchant behaviour
- Build, implement and monitor predictive models and rules to accurately assess merchant risk
- Develop and improve approaches to monitoring and mitigating credit, fraud and payment-related risks
- Work closely with payments companies and insurers to understand their requirements and help shape new solutions
- Contribute to the development of innovative modelling approaches and intellectual property
- Work collaboratively with a highly technical team while taking ownership of your own projects and problem-solving

What We're Looking For
- Experience conducting analysis using Python and extracting/manipulating data using SQL
- Experience in quantitative credit risk or fraud
- Strong experience with supervised machine learning techniques such as logistic regression and gradient boosting
