Senior Data Scientist, Real-World Evidence

A leading global healthcare and life sciences organisation is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specialising in Real-World Evidence (RWE) to lead analytical workstreams across secondary database studies and support evidence generation across a range of therapeutic areas.
The role combines advanced statistical analysis, real-world data, programming and client-facing consulting, with opportunities to contribute to study design, methodology and the delivery of high-quality analytical outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead statistical and analytical workstreams for real-world evidence and secondary database studies.
- Collaborate with functional leads and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality analytical results within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Contribute to study protocol development, statistical methodology and sample size calculations.
- Develop and maintain Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), programming specifications and analytical documentation.
- Perform statistical programming and quality-control activities using R and SAS.
- Work with real-world data sources including national registries, claims databases, electronic medical records and other secondary datasets.
- Interpret registry documentation and translate complex data requirements into robust analytical approaches.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide statistical guidance throughout studies.
- Manage study scope, budgets, resources and revenue forecasts.
- Mentor and support junior team members while contributing to wider technical and methodological development.

Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related quantitative discipline.
- Practical experience working with real-world secondary databases, such as national registries, claims or EMR data.
- Experience with UK or Nordic national registry data is advantageous.
- Strong programming skills in R and SAS.
- Experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences environment.
- Ability to understand and work with technical documentation relating to registry and real-world datasets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Excellent English communication skills.
