Senior Data Security Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Security Engineer to strengthen enterprise data protection across modern AI and productivity platforms. This role will lead the implementation of security controls across Google and Microsoft environments, ensuring sensitive information is protected while enabling secure collaboration and AI adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise data protection solutions using Google Sensitive Data Protection (Cloud DLP).
  • Configure and maintain data security controls across Gemini Enterprise and Gemini Workspace Enterprise.
  • Integrate Google security capabilities with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Purview to deliver consistent data governance and protection.
  • Develop and enforce data classification, DLP policies, and information protection strategies.
  • Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, and compliance teams to ensure secure deployment of AI and productivity platforms.
  • Support architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on data security best practices.
  • Monitor and continuously improve the organisation's data security posture across cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data protection and security issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Security Engineer, DLP Engineer, Data Protection Engineer, or a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Sensitive Data Protection (Cloud DLP).
  • Experience securing Google Workspace, Gemini Enterprise, or related Google Cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Purview, including Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention.
  • Experience implementing data classification, data governance, and enterprise DLP policies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and enterprise security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of AI security, information governance, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Google Cloud and/or Microsoft security certifications are advantageous.
