Overview
The Adults and Public Health Directorate is looking for a Senior Day Services Officer to act as a member of the local management team stabilising and influencing, acting as an effective role model of practice. Tasks include supporting, encouraging and assisting in leading the Hub staff teams to function to the best of their capabilities.
The post holder will enable people to access excellent day service centre based and community opportunities, including the world of work wherever possible and to offer choice and empower people to live as independently as possible. Responsibilities include supporting and assisting individuals to participate in safe personal care/hygiene needs as required, respecting the privacy and dignity of people at all times and ensuring that services are delivered in an anti-discriminatory manner with respect to the protected characteristics.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Ability to move and handle people.
- Knowledge of current relevant social care legislation.
- Previous experience working in a Learning/Physical Disability setting.
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour.
- Strong verbal communication and a good standard of written English.
- Supervisory, mentoring and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to support the changing needs of the service.
- Experience of managing staff through significant change.
