About the Role
The Treasury team serves as the core execution engine of the bank’s financial strategy. In this vital front-office role, you will help the dealing desk to manage daily liquidity, optimize our High-Quality Liquid Asset (HQLA) buffer, and execute critical derivative overlays to hedge structural interest rate risks. Acting as a key bridge between senior strategy and live financial markets, you will translate ALCO directives into tactical market trades while ensuring robust compliance with UK regulatory frameworks (PRA/FCA).
What you will be doing?
The key purpose of this role is to support the Head of Treasury Dealing to manage and run a ‘best in class’ dealing function for the OSB Group, focusing on active management of the banks market and liquidity risks and management of the Group’s c £3.5bn Treasury Portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Effective and efficient day to day management of cash, liquidity and market risk meeting all Regulatory & Board requirements
- Working with the Head of Dealing and Head of ALM, design, optimise and execute effective market risk hedging strategies for the Group
- Treasury portfolio manager, meeting and exceeding budgeted income within proscribed liquidity & market risk constraints
- Responsible for developing effective relationships with market counterparties, ensuring that adequate coverage & market access is in place
- Responsible for ensuring that effective contingency funding arrangements are in place and regularly tested to ensure effectiveness
- Responsible for monitoring market developments and providing appropriate recommendations to support business activities
- Manage all aspects of the Bank of England Sterling Monetary Framework relationship
- Foster a supportive culture where people perform at their best; by leading with curiosity, coaching colleagues to grow, and demonstrating OSB’s leadership daily

We offer a base salary depending on experience ranging from £80,000 per annum and a competitive benefits package including:

Do you have the skills?
We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:
Essential experience:
- Significant experience within a Treasury Dealing team in an equivalent bank/building society
- Interest Rate in Banking Book (IRRBB) experience gained in a banking environment, the ability to demonstrate and communicate the finer points, of which, is expected
- Strong previous experience in dealing in rate and fixed income financial instruments, both vanilla BAU and more complex debt instruments and securitised structures
- Previous experience of using treasury management and trading systems
- A full understanding of the BoE SMF framework and experience of transacting within it
- You will need to be able to communicate complex Treasury concepts across all levels of the wider business
- A relevant degree or other relevant professional accreditation is required, or the equivalent work experience
