About the job
A quick-start contract taking senior delivery ownership across GCP programme execution and cloud transformation for a high-profile client.
This is a 6-month initial engagement with potential to extend. The single most important requirement is proven end-to-end accountability for complex production cloud transformation delivery, ideally involving Google Cloud Platform.
This is not a general project management or PMO position. We need someone who has personally owned customer outcomes, multiple technical workstreams, commercial control, risks, escalations and delivery recovery in a real production environment.
Your Mission
Your mission is to turn a complex cloud transformation into reliable, measurable delivery, taking accountability from mobilisation and planning through implementation, cutover, stabilisation and benefits realisation.
You will lead across the customer relationship, technical workstreams, governance, commercial performance, partners and operational outcomes, working with CxO and Board-level stakeholders, engineering teams, channel partners and third-party delivery groups.
The strongest candidates will be able to explain what they personally owned, delivered, recovered and improved, including the scale, budget, technical workstreams and measurable customer outcome.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take end-to-end accountability for delivery from mobilisation and planning through implementation, cutover, stabilisation and benefits realisation
- Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders, including CxO and Board-level audiences
- Lead multiple technical workstreams across cloud, data, applications, infrastructure, security and operations
- Manage delivery governance covering milestones, OKRs, RAID, dependencies, decisions, resources and executive reporting
- Own commercial performance, budget control, delivery forecasting and scope management
- Resolve escalations, recover underperforming workstreams and provide decisive leadership in ambiguous situations
- Coordinate engineering teams, partners, suppliers and third-party delivery groups
- Ensure operational readiness, adoption, measurable benefits and continuous improvement
- Translate complex business and technical challenges into structured, actionable delivery plans
- Support delivery across Waterfall, Agile and hybrid methodologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders in English and produce clear delivery documentation, plans and executive status reporting

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
