Role Description
This is a critical platform leadership role, requiring Managing Director-level ownership, pace, and judgement within a Director mandate. We are seeking a senior technical delivery leader to take responsibility of Business-As-Usual (BAU) delivery, stability, and evolution of the Strategic Full Reval Capability (SFRC) platform within Global Markets Technology.
SFRC is a strategic risk and P&L platform, underpinning key regulatory and trading risk capabilities across Global Markets. The platform supports a range of regulatory risk use cases, including:
- Market Risk Stress Testing
- CCAR Full Revaluation
- VaR Counterparty Credit Risk
- FRTB Standardised Approach (SA)
This role is accountable for ensuring the ongoing integrity, scalability, and performance of the platform, while driving continuous improvement and alignment to future-state architecture. Although positioned at Director level, this role requires a team-member who operates with Managing Director-level accountability, monitoring outcomes across federated and high-demand production ecosystem. You will combine strategic oversight with effective delivery leadership, ensuring stability, efficiency, and controlled change across the platform. The role operates in a high-intensity environment, requiring the ability to maintain clarity, control, and delivery discipline under pressure, while balancing BAU priorities with ongoing platform evolution.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive end-to-end BAU delivery and platform stability, with accountability across technology, data, and quantitative components.
- Ensure resilience, performance, and operational integrity of the SFRC platform across all supported regulatory use cases.
- Lead prioritisation and execution of platform enhancements and fixes, balancing BAU stability with strategic evolution.
- Maintain deep understanding of SFRC and Quartz architectures, guiding decisions, simplifying complexity, and ensuring alignment to target-state principles.
- Oversee delivery across multiple contributing teams (Technology, Quants, Data, Risk, Market Data), actively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Drive effective incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation, ensuring continuous improvement in platform reliability.
- Maintain ample governance and control oversight, ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal risk requirements.
- Represent Technology in audit and regulatory interactions, owning responses and engaging credibly with control functions.
- Own platform financials, including resource allocation, cost discipline, and prioritisation across competing demands.
- Provide clear, concise updates to senior stakeholders, driving informed decision-making and accountability.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure delivery discipline, quality, and clarity of requirements.
- Drive adoption of efficient delivery practices, including automation, DevOps, and AI-enabled productivity where appropriate.
- Work closely with delivery leads across multiple concurrent platforms, ensuring effective coordination between change and BAU activities, and enabling both to execute without conflict or compromise to platform stability.
- Adhere to SFRC programme management standards, providing timely, high-quality updates and inputs to the SFRC Programme Lead (including weekly status and monthly achievements) in a timely manner.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
