We’re looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Elections Digital team at MHCLG as a Senior Delivery Manager. It’s an exciting time to join as we have an ambitious programme of work from delivery of the government’s manifesto commitments on elections, to iterating our existing services which include Register to vote, Apply for a postal vote, and Apply for photo ID to vote. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, high profile, agile environment, leading a multidisciplinary team. You’ll be working closely with Product, Technical and Policy leads to ensure project deliverables meet user and business needs. Your work will directly benefit millions of people who use our services each year to participate in elections in the UK.

Job Description
As a Senior Delivery Manager, you'll:
- Lead the delivery of complex digital elections products and services across one or more multidisciplinary teams
- Be accountable for effective delivery outcomes across the full product lifecycle, using agile methods and iterative approaches
- Own planning, prioritisation and reporting, using data to inform decisions and track delivery confidence
- Manage delivery across multiple teams, suppliers and workstreams, managing risks, dependencies, integration and delivery
- Work closely with Product, UCD, Technical, Policy and Operational colleagues to deliver user-centred outcomes
- Lead and develop high-performing teams, creating an inclusive and continuously improving environment
- Identify and remove blockers, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to influence decisions and direction
- Ensure delivery meets legal, accessibility and best practice requirements
- Lead or support governance, assurance and commercial activity, representing digital delivery team when required
Person specification
As a Senior Delivery Manager, You'll Have
- Significant experience delivering complex digital products and services in uncertain and ambiguous environments
- Experience leading delivery across multiple teams, suppliers or a programme area
- Strong practical application of agile methodologies and continuous planning approaches
- Experience managing suppliers and commercial delivery, including integration and acceptance of deliverables
- Proven ability to use data to plan, prioritise and make effective decisions on escalation, challenge and course correction
- Strong experience managing risks, issues and dependencies, including across organisational boundaries
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including influencing at senior levels
- Experience leading, motivating and coaching high-performing multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with business and technology stakeholders to articulate and translate needs

Stage 1: Sift (CV & Sift Question)
For this stage you will be asked to submit your CV, and a 500-word answer response to the question below. We will be testing experience and technical profiles using your CV. Please make sure your answer is merged into the same document as your CV and they are uploaded together.
Sift Question (Experience & Technical): In no more than 500 words, please describe an example of where you have led multiple complex workstreams at the same time. Include in your example how you managed workload, sequencing and prioritisation for yourself and your team, the challenges you faced and how you addressed them, how you set the work up for success, and the outcomes achieved.
If you are invited to interview, one of the interview questions will relate to this example described in your application.
Most of our campaigns utilise multiple assessors and so it is possible that each of your answers would be viewed by different assessors.

Sift and Interview Dates
Sifting is envisaged to take place on a rolling basis. This role will be closed to new applications on 23rd August 2026.
