Senior Delivery / Product Manager - Discovery
Central Government Consultancy
- Short Term / Remote Working
- Outside IR35 - £500-£600
As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will lead a critical new Discovery phase from the ground up. In this role, you will bridge the gap between product strategy and execution, shaping product vision and requirements while establishing robust delivery governance to set the project up for long-term success.
As a Senior Delivery Manager, your duties will be:
- Deliver services that are best in class for government, giving the same level of digital experience users expect from daily interaction with the most respected web services.
- Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning and iterating frequently.
- Work with the Product / Service manager and designers to define the roadmap for any given product.
- Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team.
- Initiate Agile ceremonies around the team's needs, carrying out regular retrospectives and continuously improving team and product capability.
- Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality and align with the GDS Service Manual.
- Be confident to remove blockers for the delivery team and encourage collaboration across teams.
- Ensure your delivery team are equipped with the tools and processes they need to successfully deliver a product/services.

What skills and experiences you will have as a Senior Delivery Manager;
- Proven ability to proactively identify project issues and risks, offering timely and effective solutions to keep delivery on track.
- Proven track record of leading Discovery phases within Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and frameworks.
- Ability to hit the ground running, rapidly build rapport, and efficiently lead, mentor, and align cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong background in the product space, with the flexibility to flex into product management responsibilities (e.g., shaping backlogs, refining vision) as needed.
- Strong understanding of product functionality and lifecycle, with the ability to translate business needs into product outcomes.
- Demonstrated strength in building effective relationships across teams, including with senior management and cross-functional business units.
- Experience influencing, leading, and collaborating across complex portfolios, driving alignment and delivering value at scale.
- Hands-on experience working in agile environments, embracing iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
- Track record of delivering large and complex requirements within public sector projects, including working in alignment with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards.
- Able to provide a clear, open and transparent framework in which teams can deliver.
