Senior Delivery Manager – Public Sector / Government Digital Services

£475–£500 per day
Inside IR35
Predominantly Remote
6 Months with extension

We're looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to join an established public sector digital transformation environment.

This is not a standalone project role. You'll be joining established multidisciplinary teams and working alongside Product Managers, Business Analysts, Designers, Researchers, and technical specialists to deliver important user-focused digital services.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of delivery across complex Agile workstreams, creating momentum and helping teams deliver effectively.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading complex Agile digital delivery.
  • Facilitating Agile ceremonies and creating effective team environments.
  • Managing dependencies, risks, issues, and blockers.
  • Working closely with Product, BA, Design, and Research functions.
  • Managing backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Using Agile metrics to improve delivery performance.
  • Coaching teams on Agile practices and continuous improvement.
  • Improving delivery predictability and team effectiveness.
  • Managing senior stakeholders and communicating progress clearly.
  • Influencing and challenging constructively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Using Jira, Confluence, and/or Azure DevOps.

We're looking for someone with

  • 5+ years' Delivery Management / Technical Project Delivery experience.
  • Strong Agile delivery experience.
  • Significant UK public sector digital experience.
  • Government Digital Service (GDS) experience or strong GDS knowledge.
  • Digital transformation experience.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary, user-centred environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Experience managing dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience using Agile metrics and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders.

The details

  • £475–£500 per day
  • Predominantly remote
  • Inside IR35
  • 6 months initially, rolling thereafter
  • ASAP start

The interview process is straightforward: one approximately 45-minute Microsoft Teams interview.

The onboarding process takes approximately 8–9 days, including IT setup and BPSS checks. Immediate availability is highly desirable, with candidates on a maximum one-week notice period preferred. Exceptional candidates with up to two weeks' notice may be considered.
