About the Role
The UBDS group is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Project Manager to lead the delivery of projects within a Microsoft 365 portfolio, with an initial focus on migrating SharePoint sites from Classic to Modern experiences.
The role will lead delivery across technical, business change, and adoption workstreams, working with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure successful outcomes for users and the wider organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Microsoft 365 projects, initially focused on large-scale SharePoint Classic to Modern migration.
- Develop and manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues across multiple workstreams.
- Coordinate migration activities including discovery, rationalisation, content remediation, testing, cutover, and post-migration support.
- Work closely with technical, business change, and adoption teams to ensure new solutions are successfully embedded.
- Manage internal teams, third-party suppliers, and service providers against agreed deliverables and commitments.
- Engage effectively with senior, technical, and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear reporting on progress, risks, and delivery outcomes.
- Ensure projects meet agreed governance, security, quality, and user requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum five years' experience delivering Microsoft 365 projects or programmes within large organisations, ideally supporting 5,000+ users.
- Proven experience leading large-scale SharePoint Online migrations, including migration from Classic to Modern experiences.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
- Experience developing migration strategies and managing content remediation, testing, cutover, and post-migration activities.
- Good understanding of SharePoint governance, information architecture, permissions, and site lifecycle management.
- Experience managing organisational change and user adoption within complex environments.
- Strong project leadership, stakeholder management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant project management certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP), Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ), or equivalent.

Desirable Experience
- SharePoint rationalisation, content clean-up, and information management initiatives.
- ShareGate, Microsoft migration tooling, or similar migration and assessment technologies.
- Microsoft 365 collaboration, intranet, document management, or digital workplace programmes.
- Experience within public sector environments.
- Familiarity with government digital, security, and accessibility standards.
