Currys is going through an exciting period of change, with the Technology Team at the driving seat. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for Technology to support the Transformation of our business.

This role will sit within our Delivery team which is at the driving seat for leading strategic change across Tech Enablement projects and programmes. The role of the Senior Delivery is a key enabler to this transformation.

The role will lead the technical delivery of large sized Delivery s and work in partnership with senior business stakeholders, Finance, Procurement and wider business and technical functions to manage projects through the full lifecycle (definition, design, build, test, implementation and handle to support) to aid the realisation of the Currys strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Takes responsibility for the management of and successful execution of large, high-profile Tech and Transformation projects that span across multiple business units and areas totalling over £1m in cost
  • Work in collaboration with project sponsors and key stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the delivery of project outcomes
  • Lead complex cross-functional change into the organisation through the application of ‘best in class’ projects, programme and change management
  • Own senior Delivery stakeholder relationships and engage the business more broadly with project communications
  • Develop high performing Delivery teams, with good knowledge management, who work in collaboration with the business
  • Establish and sustain an effective governance framework to ensure the appropriate level of oversight and control is in place across their projects
  • Co-ordinate the definition and delivery of detailed business requirements through collaboration with the business, IT and other 3rd parties
  • Take ownership for key project deliverables (such as the plan and budget) across the project lifecycle and applies appropriate methodologies to support the achievement of wider project aims and objectives
  • Ensures a high standard of project governance
  • Ensures that comprehensive project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and proactively managed
  • Manages and communicates project interdependencies clearly
  • Ensures that realistic and accurate estimates of costs, timescales, quality and resource requirements are agreed and proactively manages any deviations through to project closure

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of performing a similar role within a major FTSE 100 organisation or comparably complex, fast-moving organisation, or has experience of delivering the requirements of this role across multiple clients as a member of a top tier professional services (consulting) firm
  • Expert knowledge and experience of relevant project management methodologies, development life cycles e.g. Waterfall, Agile and Continuous Improvement
  • Hands-on experience implementing Delivery within multi-million pound transformational programmes in latest technologies
  • Proven experience implementing Delivery in Supply Chain logistics, for example Warehouse Management Systems and Warehouse Automation/Control Systems
  • Experience implementing Delivery involving systems integration (experience of Mulesoft would be beneficial), SaaS in a retail environment is preferred
  • Experience in managing 3rd party vendors and working with outsource partners, and contracting and ongoing supplier management
  • Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Proven ability to communicate to stakeholders at the appropriate level and build effective working relationships (will often need to have technical discussions with SME’s to articulate design solutions or reconfirm requirements)
  • Extremely strong organisational skills in managing multiple teams (including offshore) in order to deal with issues/risks/defects/deliverables/design queries etc.
  • Willing to be flexible to meet tight deadlines. May require commitment to work beyond contracted hours from time to time to support deployments and deal with urgent issues impacting deployments
  • Must be able to hit the ground running at pace
  • Expert knowledge of financial forecasting and budget management and control
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and create clarity through well-honed critical thinking skill
  • Desirable: Experience working in telco projects e.g. BSS platform, OCS platform
  • Desirable: Project Management Certification; Prince2, PMP or Agile
