Contract rate: DOE umbrella
Longevity: 6 months rolling
A wealth management business is looking for a Technical Portfolio Manager to bring clearer planning, stronger supplier accountability, and better delivery visibility to its technology portfolio.
The immediate focus is business-as-usual (BAU) technology delivery. You’ll work closely with the portfolio lead to understand demand, capacity, and priorities, while helping the business prepare for upcoming transformation and data-product work. This is a practical role for someone who can get beneath a delivery issue, challenge a weak plan constructively, and give senior stakeholders a clear account of what needs to happen next.

What you’ll do
- Build a reliable view of demand, resources, capacity, and delivery across the BAU portfolio.
- Help prioritise work and put the right people against the right activities.
- Track progress, delivery gaps, and supplier performance, working with vendors to improve accountability.
- Challenge unclear requirements, unsupported escalations, and plans that do not stand up to scrutiny.
- Report concisely on progress, risks, and resource constraints to senior stakeholders.
- Support clearer planning as BAU work overlaps with transformation, platform change, and future data products.

What you’ll bring
- Delivery or portfolio management experience in a complex technology environment.
- Strong front-to-back wealth management experience.
- Experience managing technology suppliers and working across multiple delivery teams and stakeholders.
- A practical grasp of demand and resource planning.
- The confidence to challenge constructively, resolve ambiguity, and turn problems into clear actions.
