Senior Delivery / Project Manager - Reuters
We envisage this maternity cover contract running until November 2027. This is a hybrid position (3x per week) based in Canary Wharf, London.
Reuters Operations & Strategy is seeking an experienced Senior Delivery / Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, product and technology-led initiatives that underpin Reuters' customer-facing and internal products.
Here you'll be accountable for delivering Reuters' outcomes predictably, securely, and at scale, balancing customer value, speed, quality, and risk while operating within Reuters standards for governance, resilience, security, editorial trust, and responsible AI. Success will require strong product partnership, rapid understanding of the Reuters business and operating model, and the ability to influence effectively across a complex, global matrix organisation.
About the Role
As Senior Delivery / Project Manager at Reuters, you will:
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex programmes and initiatives, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business value.
- Ensure delivery activities remain aligned to measurable customer, audience, product, and business outcomes, not only plan execution.
- Define and maintain integrated delivery plans across multiple teams, vendors, and geographies, including active management of internal and external dependencies.
- Evolve delivery approaches responsibly as AI-accelerated development practices mature, maintaining appropriate controls and human accountability.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA, Editorial, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
- Facilitate decision-making, manage trade-offs, resolve delivery issues and dependencies, and escalate clearly when decisions or support are required.
- Work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into executable delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
- Communicate delivery status clearly and consistently, including concise executive updates and escalations where required.
- Ensure delivery complies with Reuters standards and processes, including security, privacy, operational readiness, change management, and responsible AI use.
- Identify and actively manage technical, delivery, operational, and partner risks, with clear mitigation and contingency plans.
- Champion quality-first delivery, ensuring appropriate testing, review, release controls, resilience, and editorial trust considerations are maintained.
- Apply Agile and Lean delivery practices, pragmatically tailored to context and risk whilst supporting backlog refinement, release planning, and prioritisation in partnership with Product Management.
- Drive a consistent delivery cadence and operating rhythm across teams, using delivery, operational, and product metrics to support evidence-based decision-making.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Delivery / Project Manager at Reuters, if you have:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, product & technology-led programmes in complex, cross-functional, matrixed environments.
- Strong background in delivery / project management, with a solid understanding of modern software development practices and architectures.
- Strong senior stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to build alignment and drive execution without direct authority.
- Experience operating in Agile delivery environments, with the flexibility to adapt approach based on context and risk.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, with strong judgement and decision-making capability.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to learn complex domains quickly and connect delivery activity to customer, audience, and business outcomes.
- Practical experience using AI-enabled tools to support planning, estimation, dependency analysis, documentation, reporting, insight generation, and quality workflows while maintaining human accountability, governance, and transparency.
- Ability to evolve delivery practices towards AI-native ways of working, using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira-style backlog systems, Microsoft 365, Teams, reporting dashboards, analytics platforms, and relevant AI-enabled delivery tooling to automate, augment, and improve repeatable delivery activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
