Summary
This is a 5-6 month contract role with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £400 under an umbrella arrangement. - Lead the administration and governance support for Cabinet and Executive decision-making processes.
- Ensure all Cabinet business adheres to statutory requirements, constitutional provisions, and governance standards.
- Advise senior officers and elected members on procedural and constitutional matters.
- Maintain, coordinate, and publish the Council's Forward Plan.
- Monitor and track key decisions, ensuring compliance with legal notice requirements and governance procedures.
- Collaborate with Directors and Heads of Service to identify upcoming decisions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Local Authority Democratic Services, Committee Services, Governance, or Scrutiny Services environment.
- At least 2 years' direct experience supporting Cabinet, Executive Committees, or senior political decision-making bodies.
- ADSO Certificate in Democratic Services Knowledge.
- ADSO Diploma in Local Democracy.
- Degree or other higher education qualification.
- Qualification related to Governance, Public Administration, or Local Government.

Additional Information
- Working hours are 37 hours per week.
- The role is based at 25 Windsor Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 2EJ, United Kingdom, with a work pattern of 2 days remote and 3 days in the office.
- The position is a temporary vacancy due to the secondment of the existing post holder.
- Payments are made bi-weekly.
