Senior Dental Officer Skye and Lochalsh, Highland
Dunvegan and Kyle Dental Clinics
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Position Type: Permanent
- Salary Scale: Band B - £84,180 - £98,460 (pro-rata, 2025-2026 Rates)
About the Role
NHS Highland Public Dental Service currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Dental Officer to provide services from the two clinics in the beautiful Skye and Lochalsh area, Dunvegan and Kyle of Lochalsh. The Public Dental Service provides care to patient groups who cannot access NHS dentistry via General Dental Practitioners and the post holder will be expected to provide the full range of General Dental Services to these groups including anxious patients, so experience in delivering inhalation sedation is desirable. The post holder will also oversee and coordinate QI/Audit activity for dentists across the NHS Highland Dental Service and oversee Appraisal for all PDS clinicians.

Essential Qualifications
- Clinical experience in providing treatment to priority group patients.
- Experience in providing routine general dental services.
- GDC registration as a dentist.
- Successful listing with the Health Board.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in delivering inhalation sedation.
- A driving licence.
Essential Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and challenging patient behaviours in a positive manner.
