Role Location: Farnborough, with Portsmouth or Salisbury possible options. 3 dpw on-site.

Role Purpose
The Senior Design & Brand Manager, reporting to the Group Head of Brand and Events, is part of the Corporate Affairs Function and is a vital role within the Marketing and Communications team.
To lead the development, governance and delivery of the Group’s brand and visual identity, ensuring consistent, high-quality and impactful communications that enhance reputation, support strategic objectives and showcase the Group’s expertise, innovation and capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful creative solutions that support the Group’s strategic communications objectives, strengthening, protecting and enhancing the Group’s brand reputation while showcasing its innovation and world-class expertise.
- Support the development, implementation and governance of the corporate brand strategy, ensuring consistent application across all internal and external communications, channels and touchpoints.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing Design team, driving creative excellence, innovation and best practice to deliver brand-aligned outputs that enhance the organisation's reputation, support strategic objectives, and reflect QinetiQ's values and behaviours.
- To develop relationships with marcomms and design specialists within the sectors in order to ensure coherence and consistency of design and branding.
- Manage agencies and suppliers that deliver on demand design and other key services that support marketing and communications work to achieve improved value for money.
- Leads the implementation of artistic innovation, in line with the brand guidelines, thinking of new ways to create unique designs that have meaningful impact on customers and draws upon best in class techniques.
- Help develop skills in line with new strategy for the future.
- Leading colleagues across QinetiQ in the selection of tools and methodologies to ensure innovation and effectiveness in the delivery of creative design.
- Development of the skills of the team, acting as subject matter expert to support team members when needed. Providing developmental experiences and coaching the team to enable them to grow their expertise.
- Provide coordination and guidance to global teams to ensure consistent branding in alignment with global campaigns.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge
- Expert knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, layout, colour theory and visual storytelling.
- Deep understanding of brand strategy, positioning and architecture.
- Strong understanding of reputation management and the role brand plays in business growth.
- Ability to balance brand consistency with commercial and operational needs.
- Experience delivering integrated campaigns, corporate communications and marketing assets.
- Awareness of emerging design trends and technologies, including AI-assisted creative tools.
- Ability to project manage projects and take accountability.
Experience & Qualifications
- Good external supplier and agency management.
- Experience across a wide range of brands and best in class techniques.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary creative teams.
- Strong communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to influence senior leaders and challenge constructively when required.
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Knowledge of Cinema 4D, to create high level 3d visuals and animations.
- Understanding of After Effects, user-centred design, customer journeys, web accessibility standards and responsive design.
- Experience of content creation and multimedia, i.e. motion graphics, Premier Pro, After Effects.
- A good solid working understanding of Xparticles, and the Trapcode suite.
- Good understanding of render engines and their capabilities for certain projects (Cycles 4D, Redshift, Physical renderer).
- Experience using AI tools within creative workflows.
